THE DIAGNOSIS OF AN ILL NATION PART 1 (history, examination and diagnosis)

Patient is a 57 year old nation who presented with a 2 year history of national division and call for tribal self determination.
She developed this symptom of tribal call for self determination 2 years ago after a change in leadership in the nation. This symptom was associated with years of systemic corruption, mass poverty, national insecurity and an army of jobless youths.
This national division was alleviated temporarily due to a 6 year leadership of the past government and a national conference that brought hope for a national restructure and a new constitution. Symptoms are exacerbated by the skewed representation in appointments made by the present administration to the disadvantage of a region, speeches that fuel disunity by elder state men of the various regions and the arrest of leaders of movements that preach dissolution of the union. Treatments that have been attempted include, a national conference, use of force to silence agitators, various dialog with leaders of various ethnicity. However, this have all failed or at best had temporary effects.
Past history include about 50 year history of ethnic distrust, a civil war, several years of military dictatorship and coups, in dept corruption and economic recessions.
Social history shows a nation with very rich cultural background which has been minimally exploited, a landscape suitable to ensure the nation is an agricultural giant but largely unused and mineral recourse in abundance which is either unaccounted for or not exploited at all.
Examination shows a nation in recession , fighting insurgents in the Northeast of the nation, with various agitation round the nation due to perceived marginalization, increase in violent crimes like kidnapping, herdsmen attack, and a rising in lawlessness. The basic infrastructure in the nation has not improved as promised by the present administration. Increase in unemployment and decrease in private investors and job providers. This is even worsened by the inability to pay salaries by employers especially states governors.
In summary this is  57 year nation with years of ethnic tensions in economic recession, rising unemployment and increase youth unrest.

Diagnosis of a nation in failure is reached and anti-failure protocol needs to be started immediately.
What is your diagnosis and what is the treatment option you will suggest?

THE NECESSARY U-TURN NEEDED IN THE NIGERIAN POLITY

This write up is just my personal opinion on the present Nigerian policy direction and what needs to be done at this time. Since the government of President Buhari took over power, we have had to deal with various problems that are both transferred from previous governments and new ones. We have continued the war on terror, started a seemingly new fight against corruption, tried to deal with a drop in oil price which is our main source of income, had a delay in the formation of the Presidents cabinet, a delay in budget passing last year, budget padding issues, new uprising in the South east and South  south, plus a lot more. Where do we stand today on all these issues? We are in an economic recession, the Naira is falling against all major currencies in the world, our oil production has reduced by more than half due to attacks on oil pipelines, terror attack has reduced but has not been extinguished. fight against corruption is not yielding a lot of conviction and we can go on and o

"IMPUNITY when it affects the RICH"

What is impunity?  Impunity  means  exemption or freedom from punishment, harm, or loss ".  In the  international law  of  human rights , it refers to the failure to bring perpetrators of  human rights violations  to justice and, as such, itself constitutes a  denial  of the victims' right to  justice  and  redress . Impunity is especially common in countries that lack a tradition of the  rule of law , suffer from  corruption  or that have entrenched systems of  patronage , or where the  judiciary  is weak or members of the security forces are protected by special  jurisdictions  or  immunities . This is a word used by a lot of people to express its disgust on the high handedness and oppressive actions of some government agencies and officials. It is a normal occurrence for state agencies to act with impunity on normal defenseless citizens as they have so much powers to do so but recently there has been a shift of those who are being oppressed. These days the masses stay b
